Disney Paris
Paris, with its reputation as the City of Love, wouldn’t seem at first to be the best place to visit with children. Upon closer examination, it turns out that Paris is a fabulous place for the younger set, with a wide variety of child-friendly attractions and activities.
Disneyland Paris, located just 32 kilometers (20 miles) from Paris, opened in 1992 and has been a popular international destination ever since.
With the multiple attractions of Disneyland Park,
Walt Disney Studios, and Disney Village, most visitors stay for several days to take in all the Disney magic.
Disneyland Park is the equivalent of the Magic Kingdom at other Disneyland locations, with many rides and interactive exhibits grouped by lands, such as Frontierland, Adventureland, and Fantasyland.
The Walt Disney Studios is a movie-industry themed park and includes rides more suitable for older children and adults, including the popular Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.
Disney Village is an entertainment and shopping area which features Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show, themed restaurants like The Rainforest Cafe, and many unique shops.
The busiest times to visit Disneyland Paris are over Christmas and New Year's, from mid-February to early April, from July to early September, and mid-October.
Saturday through Monday are the most crowded days of the week, and Tuesday and Wednesday are generally the least crowded.
Guests who choose to stay at one of Disneyland Paris' onsite resorts have
tickets included in the price of their package; for those travelers who need to purchase tickets separately, they are available for advance purchase online in addition to at the park upon arrival, though lines may be long in the case of the latter.
Many of the most popular rides can have long wait times, so it is recommended to arrive at the parks earlier than the opening time and go straight to the popular rides, such as Big
Thunder Mountain Railroad and Indiana Jones and the
Temple of Doom. Rides are also less crowded during parades and fireworks shows.
