Paris Art Fair 2013

March is an eventful month for the art enthusiasts and critics in Paris. The city organizes numerous art shows throughout the month and this may be a good excuse why you should think about visiting Paris in March. The city will be hosting the following art shows in coming March:

Vincent Van Gogh – Dreaming of Japan and Hiroshige- The Art of Travel:

This joint exhibition will be held at Penachotheque gallery and kick in from 17th March. The show will exhibit the work of a lesser-known Japanese artist who had an intense influence on the paintings of several great impressionists including the Dutch artist Vincent Van Gogh. The paintings on display will help you compare the works of the Japanese artist and Van Gogh who is best known for his famous work “Starry Night”. The celebrity painter’s 40 works will be exhibited in the gallery, and most of them are landscapes. These paintings are a mirror to the influence of the Japanese painting technique on the great artist. I would suggest you on buying tickets for both exhibitions. However, you can also buy a single ticket for any one show or other.

Salvador Dali:

The city will organize a retrospective on Salvador Dali, one of the most popular surrealists of all the time. The exhibition will start from 25th March at Centre Pompidou. Book ticket in advance as there will be a heavy crowd to witness some iconic masterpieces and original works including ‘Persistence of Memory’ by the world-famous artist.
